Legacy is a non-profit working globally to redeem, restore, empower and equip those vulnerable to human trafficking, abuse, exploitation and addiction. We are actively working with other organizations and social justice enterprises to raise awareness and cease a network of opportunities for the formerly exploited. The product line, Eleventh Candle Co. was created to directly support the causes derived from our non-profit.

Our Current Campaign

$11/month

Why $11? The name of Legacy’s product line, Eleventh Candle Co., is what ignited the title for this campaign.
In 2017, our goal is for YOU to be one of the 1,111 donors committed to a repeated monthly donation of $11. Our desire is to remind woman that it is never too late for hope and a miracle. Most importantly, it’s never too late to redeem, restore, empower, and equip those who feel lost – even in the eleventh-hour – help can be found. 100% of your money will go towards redeeming, restoring, empowering, and equipping those in need. Your support has allowed our efforts to impact women and children across the globe. Thank you for joining our tribe and believing in our mission.

You can also support Eleventh Candle Co. by making a one-time donation or recurring monthly donation. 100% of your money will go towards redeeming, restoring, empowering, and equipping those in need. Your generosity will fuel our ability to help meet the needs of the people we serve and we extend our sincerest gratitude.
How you choose to get involved may be influenced by several factors, including your stage of life, the amount of time you can feasibly commit, and the resources you have available. We aspire to bring together people from all walks of life, to create a tribe, serve the world and leave a Legacy.

All profits from the sale of Eleventh’s artisanal products go directly back into the mission of Legacy both here in the United States as well as in Ethiopia. Since that first, life-changing trip to Africa, Legacy has collaborated on the building of a school, a soccer field for children, supporting a local co-op and employing Ethiopian artisans to create products to sell. Most recently, Legacy has come alongside the Ethiopian Almaz Ashene Children and Family Support Center Association whose focus is on early childhood education, working with the street children, and empowering women within their own communities. In Columbus, we also employ women vulnerable to trafficking, abuse, exploitation and addiction at the Eleventh Candle Company. These women now have a sense of dignity, supporting themselves, receiving restorative counseling and becoming a part of a legitimate, worthy community. All of which, enables them to transition into a long-term, productive, healthy lifestyle.

NATIONAL EFFORTS

EMPLOYMENT

Employing former victims of sex trafficking through our social enterprise shop, Eleventh Candle Co.a product line launched through Legacy. We are also training women in micro-enterprise skills to provide an alternative source of income to prostitution.

EDUCATION

Providing an earn while you learn program, 1 hour daily to educate and equip women on tangible skills beneficial for their progression in life and career goals.

COUNSELING

Providing weekly counseling sessions as well as available individual counseling if desired.

INTERNATIONAL EFFORTS

EMPLOYMENT

Our goal is to establish sustainable communities for orphans and to employ women.  Through skills training, sixteen women in Ethiopia are currently employed to make beads, metal jewelry, and hand-carved wooden crosses and figurines. We are also training women in micro-enterprise skills to provide an alternative source of income to prostitution.

FOSTER CARE

Our team is actively working with a village in Ethiopia to support a self-sustaining school and foster care program. Our Home-Based Care Program (HBC) is a family-based program that both addresses and prevents the rise of the orphan population by caring for children in a home environment. We also provide funding of antiretroviral drugs to stop mother-baby transmission. We are also filling in the gaps to ensure that vulnerable children have access to nutrition, healthcare and education.

TRASH COMPANY

It may seem insignificant to us, but trash is incredibly challenging in third-world countries. Legacy started a trash company which has taken disease rates down significantly for the people living in the village.

A continuum of community-based care offers a hopeful solution to this plight, connecting the community, the church, the orphanages and the government in an alliance to provide the best possible care.
